Questions
What is Markdown?
Plain text with a few marks for structure: # for a heading, - for a list item and ** for bold. AI tools, wikis and note apps all read it.
How are headings found?
Text set bigger than the body text becomes a heading, biggest first. Lines that start with a bullet or a number become lists.
Can I do several files at once?
Yes. Choose or drop several files. Each one gets the same settings, and you save them all in one ZIP.
What does it not keep?
Layout, columns, tables, pictures and drawings. Each page starts with a page note, with a line between pages. Scanned pages have no text, so run OCR PDF first.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The tool runs in your browser, so your files never leave your device. Nothing is sent to us or kept after you close the tab.
Is it free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark on your file and no daily limit.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Once the page has loaded you can turn off Wi-Fi and the tool still works.
